Montecito Heights

Montecito Heights, the initial East LA area, known as ‘Wilderness in the City’, is an isolated rugged and green terrain, on the Monterey Hills, offering most striking views of the city. Major attractions are the famous Lummis Home built by legendary Charles Lummis, and the Heritage Square Museum, taking back to the 19th century life with guided tours and Victorian Era structures.

Worth visiting are the 282-acre Ernest E. Debs Regional Park, which is home to migratory birds and arroyo woodlands, with hiking trails, picnic areas and a bird sanctuary, or the Audubon Centre, an environmental conservational and educational center, where one can take a lesson of nature.
